New member looking at getting a Tahoe or Yukon, could use some advice!

Great, so even being a dog, would the 5.3 w/ the HD trailering option tahoe, still trailer my boat fine?

Sure, even a 3.08 geared 5.3 would get you there eventually, but tall gears like that are not good for the trans and might actually hurt mileage while towing.

I ended up getting a 2010 Tahoe with the HD trailering Package. I am hoping I will have no issues with trailering my boat, which is probably 5000lb with everything. My truck since lifted needs a 10 inch drop hitch, with the tahoe do you need a drop hitch? Also, does anyone use the built in trailer brakes on the Tahoe? I've never used them on my truck, especially since the trailer has electronic brakes on it also, so I just plug the trailer in and tow.

Should I upgrade anything else to help enhance my towing experience, or should I not have much trouble?

Couldn't hurt. Even without towing I've got Baer Eradispeed plus 1 setups for front and rear. I don't think the stock brakes are all that impressive.

Front P.N. is 2301049, rear is 2302023. Search around, you can find them on sale sometimes and save a few bucks.
