I've been the owner of an 88 full size GMC Jimmy, 99 Tahoe Sport (I regret selling both) and soon to be the owner of a 2003 Tahoe with the z71 package.

It is a 1 owner car. The owner is an old man who's getting too old to drive. He bought it at the local dealer where he lives, about 80 miles east of KC, MO. Title is clean, I ran a carfax, all dealer serviced. 45,700 miles!!! I ran it around last night, everything worked except the 3rd brake light and rear hatch lock. He had his neighbor fix both today. Everything is straight, new tires, fresh oil change, paint is perfect. The only issue I know of is the CD player on the factory unit does not work and there is quite a bit of surface rust on the undercarriage. I don't care much about the CD player, but will address the rust with some sanding, wire wheels and I've read a few threads about the different options to coat the underside.

He had the original invoice, $44,299. He was asking $15k and accepted my offer of $13,700. I think I made out really well.

That's still too high... even with low miles.

No 3rd row, no rear captain chairs. That would be an $8,000 (maybe up to $10,000) vehicle here.

Just looked on my local craigslist and people are asking $5,500 - $8,000 for a 2003 to 2005 Tahoes with miles around 100,000-120,000. I know you like the low miles but you're paying a premium for it. Especially being 13 years old.

If that would go for 8-10 there, let me know if you find one and I'll come buy it and bring it back to flip. I haven't seen one with that low miles go for under 17k. I can find a similar one for the same price I'm paying but it has more than 2-3x the miles.

I know it's over NADA and KBB in pricing. I also know it wasn't a lease or run around by some teenagers. When you compare it to a 15 Tahoe that cost $75,000, the 2003 can do everything I would need a 15 to do.

I also had 2 of the 2 door Tahoe's, the 99 Tahoe and 88 Jimmy. They go for a premium as well. There's one on ebay now with bids of over $13k that's a 2 owner, 2 accident and 115k miles. I think NADA and KBB are good references but when you know the history of the car and it's the one you want, I don't have an issue paying a little more. My commute to work is 16 miles round trip, 4 days a week. Even if I doubled that mileage it would take 8-10 years to roll 100k. I plan on keeping this vehicle for the next 10-15 years and will pass it down to my son who is 8 years old now. So thinking ahead too.

I searched cars.com, autotrader.com, ebay and a few other online sites and couldn't find another one for that price with under 100,000 miles on it.

Very nice grab! These things will run forever if you keep up with the maint. I think the price was fair-only issue it being an 03'-you could maybe got it for a little less...but not much. Up here that vehicle would not last very long even at 15K. Dont worry about the undercarriage rust-you should see mine lol. The NBS trucks are built to last IMO. Enjoy!!

I'm guessing most are 2wd in Florida. That's a $14k-18k rig in Colorado. I agree, you find them for $8-10k 4x4 let me know.

I agree. I'd offer $9000 cash.

Nice truck, nice records, nice condition in and out but still 13 years old and has rust.

He had 2 other offers of 13.5 cash and they would pick it up Monday. I shook his hand and we wrote up a contract for 13.7. I know that at least one of the two 13.5 offers was legit, because I found out a friend of mine at work made the offer!

Great buy. Sure there might be a few cheaper but it's all about condition, condition, condition.
