Hey guys I have a question...I have an 2002 yukon and jusy blew trans...lost 3rd and 4th...im pulling trans to have it rebuilt but in the meantime I wanted to swap out my rear end...I bought the truck new in 02 n have never once serviced that rear end and before it goes out I just wanted to swap it out cause I have a complete rear end off an 08 escalade with only 25k miles...my truck has about 170k miles
I compared both rear ends and they look the same just wondering if will be a direct bolt on orIif something needs to be modified?
Any comment, suggestions, input would be greatly appreciated...thanks in advance!

I did check all measurements n gear ratio should be the same...guess what I mean is the internals...like the g80 in my current diff...would the one in the new rear end be the same...ive read and seen that the are the same 2000-2009 not sure if this is true...also how good does this g80 work what does if actually do?

I've read in many forums the G80 is not the best choice for a rearend if you have a choice. They seem to lock and unlock depending on the difference in wheel speed of the rear tires and some folks say this locking and unlocking at times of hard acceleration when there is tire slip...ie snow, mud, rain...can cause them to explode.
