Just purchased a 2017 Denali. I really don't want to tear into the doors/dash as of yet as the vehicle only has 8k miles and feel the stock Bose system is still decent. I do however dread the factory Sub and and was wondering if I could just add a Sub(s) and an amp and still keep the "Factory" system in place?
I was thinking 2ea 12's with a 5 Channel (in preperation of replacing the stock speakers)

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

In my 2016 Tahoe LT I added a JL Audio HD900/5 amp. It is powering the stock Bose door speakers and two JL 8W7's in a sealed box where the third row used to be. And it totally pounds. I have the gain turned almost all the way down on the door channels and its still loud as f and perfectly clean sound quality. The subs are getting 500 watts total. I'm sure eventually I may upgrade to some higher end door speakers but my installer tried with the Bose and said no need to spend the extra cash and he was right. There is a preamp in there too that takes the output from the stock radio and converts into a flat audio signal before going into the amp.

I decided to go with the JL audio 900.1 5 channel with the JL audio HO112RG-w3v3 ported sub. Awesome sound and exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the recommendation
