Thats a pretty good deal and the box seems pretty big. Not bad even if you wanted to replace the speakers with something else and get a bigger amp.

yeah im sure those speakers can handle more... but this thing freaking slams. The box is bigger than i like, but hopefully we are going to build a new one next week sometime. he had a TMA 1000 watt in his tahoe and it seems like it hits just as hard or a little hard in my tahoe than his. But theres no telling... haha

dude you can expect it to sound different if you build a smaller box. you will prolly notice that the lows wont be as loud. I would just leave the box and get a bigger amp cuz those seem waaay underpowered. I mean 500RMS subs x 4 subs=2000 Watts RMS and you have 500RMS.... yea you need more.

plus that TMA mightve had too much of an ohm load to get its full potential out of it which might be why it wasnt any louder. but with the JL Slash series, ohms between 2 and 4 are no prob for that 500/1 (between 1.5 and 4 for 1000/1)
