New Tahoe Owner, 2016 LT - Have a few questions

Hi all,

I just got my first Tahoe, it is a 2016 Summit White LT with Black interior and luxury package. (no dvd or sunroof). It has new Genera Grabber HTS60 tires installed. Wheels are the 18” size. Had 43,000 miles on it when I got it.

I have a few questions:

1) I noticed that the front looks slightly lower than the rear around the wheel. It appears that a lot of people have leveling kits installed to correct this? What are the advantages or disadvantages of doing this? Seems like it would look better.

Anyone have any pics of one like mine with this done?

which kit do I need? I don’t want to lift the back anymore just level the front.

2) Does the LT not have the daytime running lights? I have seen a strip of lights at times but they don’t seem to come on automatically unless I push the light button. That also causes the dogs to come on.

3) How much work is it to convert the headlights and fog lights to LED, a color temperature similar to the daytime running lights? Any recommendations on exactly which lights to choose?

Are there any other lights I should switch out if I go through this project?

4) Any other simple additions I can do to upgrade the Tahoe easily? I have seen that I can pickup a chrome exhaust tip to complete the rear.

Anything else that is easy to do?

5) What tire PSI is generally best? Mine came with 37 PSI

I am located in Raleigh, NC. Any recommended shops to do the level kit and lights for me?

@cmatt has an adapter that makes your strip your DDL. Not as bright as the newer ones, but it is cool. LED headlights and fogs is easy and looks great.

thanks for the info on what Cmatt has. Is that something very easy to install?

Also any help on what lights I would order? Just how easy are those to install also?

Cable adapter is easy as are the lights on the drivers side. Passenger side required filter box removal. Still a less than 30 minute task. I bought my LED headlight from amazon. Fogs from advanced auto. It’s been a while, sorry no part numbers.

Welcome from Virginia. Leveling can be done either way. Raise the front or drop the rear. It’s a matter of taste. I prefer lower but not everyone does. As long as it’s done right there’s not much risk going either way. Both can be done in your garage there are tons of posts here.

So the cable adapter will have that led strip act as daytime running lights? Will it automatically turn on?

Also, as far as tint goes, can I match the front driver and passenger window to the rear? What tint do people normally do on these windows?

I have a 2016 Tahoe LT also, and I just finished re-upgrading my lights. I originally installed some LED bulbs, but the light pattern was near impossible to keep from blinding oncoming traffic. I finally swapped the LED’s out for an HID system, and I also went ahead and upgraded my fog lights to an LED fixture while I was at it. I’ve been very pleased with the outcome! I used the HID Elite system and the LED fog lights both made by Morimoto, and I purchased both thru TheRetrofitSource.com. I’ve used Morimoto before and they’ve always worked great, and they have a great warranty too. I went with the 35W ballast and the 5,500K bulbs to match my DRL plus the fog lights only come in 5,500K. If your headlights have projectors for low beams like mine, make sure you get the H11B bulbs (instead of H11A).
