New tahoe, quick question on navigation bypass

New to the forum, just bought an 06 tahoe LT with bose and navigation. I had a question about the DVD/navigation bypass. I've read so many forums but can't seem to find one for the second generation tahoes. Is there a way to bypass the parking brake feature so you can type in directions or scroll through sirius? Please don't comment something like you should be focused on driving because this would mainly be for the passenger as we will be driving cross country soon. Thank you
