Right now I'm on 305/40/22, looking to switch to 285/45/22. Can anyone suggest a good all season tire especially on NYC streets. Thanks.

I use the Bridgestones but the streets here are basically brand new.

For NYC streets you want tank treads! An LT tire in Load Range E would be more resistant to pothole damage and road hazards. Does Michelin offer the LTX Defenders in the size you want?

A few months ago I bought a mint 2005 Yukon XL SLT 4wd. It has the 17" wheels. It had worn Michelin Defenders. My old '88 GMC C2500 had the same tires, but 16", and I loved them! I did choose the "comfort tires".... (32psi)..... But for NYC, you could get the more heavy duty version of them.
Anyway, the cost of Michelin in a 17" was about $230 each! I shopped around and found 2 other great options.
Bridgestone or Yokohama both in the "H/T" ( highway tread & great in water).... The cost was less about $140.
If I remember, you can also get them in a stiffer sidewall version.
