New Tires

Need to replace all 4 on my 07 Denali. Looking for low rolling resistance to hopefully increase mileage without sacrificing performance or safety. Any and all recommendations appreciated. What are you riding with? Why do you love/hate them?

Michelin Defender LTX is the only tire to buy. Nothing rides as good and I don't care what anyone says. Many people don't understand how big of a difference tire choice makes in how a vehicle rides, drives, feels, and handles. Yes, they are expensive but you get what you pay for. I can't see any reason to skimp on what connects the vehicle (which is generally people's second most expensive possession) to the road and you'll be stuck with for 30k-80k miles. I've owned tires from all the major manufacturers and nothing compares, you'll think you bought a new truck. I'll buy used Michelins before I buy anything else new.

I agree with Michelin for the most part. But you didn't mention where you take your Denali, like do you ever need to go off roading? Do you like in more of a snowy or dry place? If you drive on the road 90% of the time and you don't get feet of snow at a time or major inches thick of ice in the winter, the Michelin will be perfect. But if you go on Jeep trails, get 15" of snow, you may need a more aggressive tire. Don't cheap out on tires, and don't buy any LT's that the 3/4 ton trucks use.

I have the michelin on my 06 SD, but I have Kumho Road Venture's on my 09 Tahoe. Love both sets of tires.

I’m not a fan of the Premiers. They’re also too soft for a full size in my opinion, they usually don’t last half the life of the Defenders.

I’d like to throw Bridgestone Dueler Alenzas into the hat on this. I’ve never had Michelin Defenders on any of my Yukon’s or Suburban. I have only had and I have been very happy with Bridgestone Dueler Alenza H/L’s. Over the years, I have averaged 85K to 90K out of a set and the ride is very comfortable. Strictly highway driving in Iowa summers and winters.

I have the Michelin Defenders LTX M/S tires on my 07 Yukon XL Denali, as well, and though I have only a few thousand miles on them at present, I am extremely happy with them.

I will note, however, that I do not do any off-road driving, so for someone who anticipates doing a lot of off-road driving, a different tire may be a better option.

Also, I was able to maximize my tire size (305/50x20) on the stock 20" wheels, without having to make any suspension or wheel-well modifications to have them fit without rubbing.

30 foot burnouts probably won't help, the callaway just lights them up, and of course everyone has to try to get in front of you, and that's just not happening.
