New Tires

I just put 285/70/17 goodyear silentarmors on my 2008 yukon. They are rated for a max PSI of 65. I dont really know much about psi effects on wear on tires but I was looking for advice on what psi I should run the tires at to get the best and max tread wear. Kinda expensive tires so I want to give myself every bit of advantage for max tread life.
Also- I matched my sensors for the new tires and it is reading the correct psi on each tire (no yellow light on anymore), but the diagnostic center on the dash still says check right FRONT then REAR then Left FRONT then REAR everytime I start the car. I know its bc the original tires arent rated for as high of a psi as these tires run, but is there anyway to reset the actual limit?

Run about 85-90% of the rated PSI.

Take your Yukon to the dealership or someone else with Tech 2 and they can reprogram a different minimum/maximum tire pressure range. If you get someone who knows what they're doing, this should take about 10 minutes. I did this when I went with my new Goodyear Duratracs because I wanted to run 56-58 psi.

I agree with getting someone with a Tech 2 to reset your TPMS but I diagree with 85/90% of your max pressure rating. That's 55 to 581/2 psi. You might just as well put steel wheels on as your ride is going to be extremely harsh not to mention the increased chance of hydroplaning on wet surfaces. a tire pressure of 35 to 40 psi is plenty and even that will contribute to a hard ride. Just MHO.

Why not just go by what the inside of the door says? I run mine around 33 psi.

Because that rating is based on the tires/wheels that come on the vehicle from the factory. If you change load ratings you'll more than likely want to change air pressures.
