Yeah I have been thinking of putting it on. I'm sure I was on my way to a 14.9 pass before the u-joint snapped. Has anybody ever done a 454 in a 2 door 4wd? Any ideas what is needed , oilpan , oil filter relocation, shortie headers, built 4l60e and convertor for a bigblock. That would be for starters.

I have a hughes 4l80E in my SS that is pretty stout. I was thinking my stock 454 in the garage with a compucam cam was about 300 HP and 450+ torque ,naturally aspriated with the whipple at 6 psi it would about 400hp and 500+ torque I don't want a 12 second truck but 13.5et would be nice.

It's been a while since I last posted. Well my 1.5 L whipple started making a rumbling noise. It is shot as far as bearings and case ,and rear bearing support. I really havn't driven it all that much. Replacement brand new 1.5 is $1850 a 2.2 litre is $2400 new. They are getting rare to find these compressors, kennebell doesn't carry them anymore ,they are onto a larger series compressor. PSE is the only one i have been able to find. Started watching E-Bay came across a polished 2.4 Liter , for $1000 bucks with 12,000 miles on it. So I picked that up and going to install onto my 454SS that has a 2.2 liter. The 2.2 is now going to go on the Tahoe ,I think it will be way to much blower , so I'm going to pulley it down to 12 pounds. I have a smaller crankshaft pulley coming 25% underdrive and fairly large blower pulley, and see were she boosts at. I should see a decent HP gain just in pulley ratio and a compressor that is more effciant that won't heat the discharge air as much . Hope to get everything swapped on Saturday.

Hey Shawn, whats the part number on that SURCO rack you got, and was it an easy install? Also, did summit sell you the tire mount or did it come with the rack?

Thanks!
