Hey y'all!

So I just purchased my first Denali. It's a 2007 with the 6.2. I don't know much about what came with it from the factory. I'm curious to know what my stock suspension is because I do plan to upgrade it. I'm also looking for bigger brake upgrades. Not sure if we can pull bigger brakes from other models. Also curious to know if there are better alternators out there that will fit our setup from other trucks. Any and all input / feedback is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum from Iowa.

Our first Yukon was a 2007 Denali as well. As for the the suspension, I’m assuming yours came with AutoRide and AutoLevel.

AutoRide adjusts the dampening of the shocks based on road conditions. AutoLevel uses airbags on the rear shocks to keep the vehicle level under load. Common failure points on the rear are 1) the air compressor craps out and 2) the airbags leak. Arnott makes good aftermarket replacements for these parts. Many people will disable the AutoRide feature, which requires a resistor pack to avoid Service Suspension errors, but they will keep the AutoLevel functional.

How many miles on the truck. If over 100,000, it may be time to replace the shocks all around. The parts are expensive, but IMO the improved ride quality, and always being level regardless of what you are loading or towing, are well worth the price. I recently converted my truck back to the stock Z55 suspension (electronic suspension control), after it was converted to cheap shocks and resistors by the previous owner. I will be sharing as much as I can. I love working on cars! Aside from the Denali, i have Two 2nd Gen Oldsmobile Auroras in my fleet lol. These are the only pics I have of the truck for the moment. I bought the Denali with 97K on the clock. it was an Alabama truck so the undercarriage is completely without rust!

As of now, i'm currently in the process of repairing a couple issues. I need to replace the water pump and i have a pesky misfire in cylinder 1 that i can't resolve. New plug, wire and coil. i'm guessing it may be a gasket leak on the intake but who knows. i only have misfires at idle. once i'm on the gas, they're gone. but i'll figure it out. next step is the injector.

Any ideas on the intake manifold? are there other intakes that are better designed or a nice upgrade from the stock bulky unit?

also, any suggestions on suspension? i kind of want something a little more sporty than stock, but don't want to eliminate the auto ride nor the auto level.

I love those Aurora's, ahead of their time. Just the pesky electrical issues.

You bsically have to use the Arnott air shocks for the rear auto-ride and a pump ( usually they are froze up) from Rock Auto- 50$ core refund...Front struts replace the shock portion.
