Hey guys, what's up? I'm new to this forum. I actually found it by mistake but am glad I did and I'm happy to be here. Bear with me while I look around and try to find answers to any questions I may have and excuse me if I ask something that's been answered in a thread that's now buried. A little about me and my Tahoe. I'm from SA, TX, work as an IT professional and have owned my '96 Tahoe since I bought it in 2000. I bought it with 37k miles on it back then and it just now hit 87k miles. 50k mi in close to 10 years - not bad. So it's a '96 2dr 4x4 with a 3" body lift, 285 75 16 Goodyear MTRs, line-x'd pre-runner bar with 2 stainless off-road lights and a K&N air filter. The rest is pretty much stock. I'm currently having a problem with the AC, as in I have none at the moment and will need tires soon. Other than that, it's been pretty reliable with no major issues. I'm looking into getting some Nitto Terra Grapplers, some black wheels, a cat-back exhaust, new stereo and speakers and of course getting the AC fixed. Anyways, glad to be here, I know I'll get some great info from this place.

Looks like a great truck man! Welcome to the forum! I think you should paint the pre runner bar black. Otherwise looks awesome! Whats up with the AC? You have none at at all? how about heat? None at all also? If you have heat but no ac it could be one of the actuators gone bad.

It's black now, I've had it line-X'd in black for a while now. I'll try and get an updated picture. About the AC, I've heard so many times from people with our year 95-1999 trucks that their compressor had gone out. I was basically able to fill it up every summer with freon and it would last all summer but over the mild months it would all leak out. This year was different. I filled it up and it's empty in 2 days. Heat doesn't work now either. This one place in town will fix it for $600 with a year warranty but I wont need it for a while so I'll get it when summer starts so I'll have the warranty longer. Oh I also have a 1972 K5 Blazer that I'm restoring. Love the full size 2 dr SUVs.

Oh and after looking around, I now know I want either AR Mojave or Chamber wheels. Both teflon. Not sure which one though I'm leaning towards the chambers.

Welcome the forums! :welcome: Happy you stumbled onto us here! I'm soo jealous of your 72 K5. I had one before I was married and sold it for financial reasons and have been dying to get another one!
