I'm new to the forum and will soon be new to the Yukon world. I've got my sights set on a 2016 Denali with the 6.2L V8. The only consistent criticizm of the vehicle I have heard from multiple owners is "the lack of throttle response" especially when the motor transitions from 4 to 8 active cylinders. Before I buy one I'm trying to determine if this is a pet peeve or a real issue that should nix the idea of buying one. Any input from those of you that own a Yukon with a 6.2L motor will be much appreciated.

Thanks again.

If you're not concerned about mpg you can get the black bear tune and shut that system off completely....me thinks.

But I don't have one so can't comment any further on if it's an issue or not.

Welcome aboard

No issue IMO. If you need power, it's there. If you want the acm gone, easy. Range device or a tuner will turn it off.

Be more concerned about buffeting and vibration.

Test drive carefully. Do not buy site unseen.

Good luck!

not an issue, its most likely a personal preference. The Engine is powerful, definitely. I love my 6.2L. Only thing i notice with mine is that occasionally my transmission will get confused and forget that its a transmission. Sometimes just needs a little support and encouragement on down shifting while slowing down after highway speed travel. I mean this by literally every once in a while i havent had it happen in months. But if you tell her you love her and rub the steering wheel nicely that ol' tranny will down shift for you like a beaut. LOLOL Enojy it! I love my 2015.5 denali! safe travels.
