Picked up this 2006 19' Northwood Nash a couple weeks ago. Maiden voyage for us this coming weekend. A few projects for me in the coming months, but it's in pretty good shape. Microwave appears to not be working, so may need to replace that.

Anxious to see how the Tahoe (2013 LT, 5.3) does pulling it. When I pulled it home (pic below) I just used a regular hitch, so the front of the truck was riding high. But it came with a weight distributing hitch and I've since got that dialed in in and pulled it around a few miles close to home. Also dialed in my brake controller at the same time. It was a noticeable difference in pulling it with the proper hitch.

I'll see how I like how the 5.3 does over the course of this year. Perhaps I'll consider a 6.0 swap in the future. Dry weight is somewhere around 4100-4300, GVWR is 5600. We'll see. Our trip this weekend is just 20 miles away from home, but there will be some further trips this summer.

Me and my girl is thinking about a larger trailer. Would be pulling with our 2004 Silverado K2500HD 6.0 4L80E. Crew cab with 6.5 bed. Would be a hitch type trailer. Oregon has no sales tax and is RV country. The search should start soon. Look all the time though. Longer and newer would be lighter but not gonna get crazy long.

That's in marvelous shape for being 19 years old - I'll bet it was stored indoors. If so, it's worth getting up on that roof with a tube of Dicor to do some spot sealing.

Thank you! Yes, we were the first to respond to his ad, and when we looked at it next day, he said he was getting a lot of calls on it. Definitely underpriced it. (based on a number of comps I looked at).

I'm not sure it was stored indoors all its life, but at least the last several years. Caulking and sealing look pretty intact now, but will probably need some attention soon. I had never heard of Dicor before, but after looking it up it seems like that's the stuff to use! Thanks!

Still working out the storage situation. We have a line on spot at a facility, but long range plan is to develop a spot for it on our property. But that's going to require me to build a retaining wall with fill behind it to get it level for the trailer first. Hopefully this summer...... Looking at a fitted cover for it. (but NO blue tarps!)

Glad you caught that reference. One of the biggest mistakes I see new owners make is getting up on the roof with a tube of silicone caulk. It makes future spot sealing with a proper self-leveling lap sealant impossible because it won't stick to the silicone. So when the silicone cracks and leaks, there is no reliable way to seal it up without painstakingly removing the silicone or having the roof membrane replaced. $$$$.

I made the call to not cover ours even though it's stored outdoors. Opinions on it out there are mixed. Here in the south though, it's sun that's the biggest source of deterioration so I'm not sure I made the right call on that because we have a lot of panel and gel coat fading now. So I think you're making the right call on investing in a cover. If you can build a shelter for it, even better.

I worked for Monaco Motorhomes in the early 2000's and was a service writer. We did a bunch of "Peel and Seal" work on the roof's and used Dicor, for this very reason.

Here in Eugene, Or. it is RV's everywhere and dealers everywhere. Marathon Motorhomes is close, in Coburg, Or. With this being a "No Sales Tax" state, there are RV's all over the place on the roads around here.

I've seen lots of Airstreams for sale out that way, so when it comes time for us to buy one, I'd be happy to pay you to inspect it for us if it's anywhere near you and you're open to it.

I am and I have a friend that I wrote service with, that still is a service manager at a local large RV dealer and he can point me in the right direction.
