Newb with 99 Yukon 4x4 with tire size question on stock suspension

Looked around, tried the search but did not find the answer I was looking for.
Any help is appreciated.
My 99 Yukon 4 door 4x4 has stock suspension, about 125K miles on it.
I just landed a brand new set of 15" wheels, 4" backspacing, 10" width.
Wanting to put 33 x 12.50's on the wheels and run them, but wondering what my limits are going to be with the stock height, or what I can do in a tight budget to gain enough lift to run the larger tires?
My offroading will be mild. I mainly drive it on the highway daily.

Guess my main question is what is the max tire size I can expect to run with my wheels and stock height?

33 is what tucks on an OBS with no modification, I believe the NBS has more room as well so a 33 should be safe on a stock suspension.

Those wheels will not be a good fit for a stock height truck. no matter what size tire you run they will rub. 10" is wide plus the 4" BS is a lot. I would not run anything larger than a 265, chances are they will rub at lock.

The 33x12.5 will fit on the stock wheels with stock suspension but not those wheels

Thanks guys. Thats the kind of info. I was looking for. And thanks for the welcome. This will be my first Yukon to work with. I had a 96 Suburban but its gone now. I like the Yukon much better because its got the shorter wheel base.

I can always sell the 15" x 10" wheels. I only paid $60.00 for all 4 so I feel pretty sure I can score my $$$ back on them from someone with a jacked up Toyota.

I will look at using my stock 16's and trying to match up some 285/75/16's for it then. Only problem I see with this is that my tires I am running now, which are only 255/70/16's seem to rub already at full lock. Thats why I was thinking on a rim with more offset to the outside.

+1 - that 4" BS with a 10" will rub

As a point of reference for you b/c you mentioned 285's...

I just recently added 285's on 17x9 rims that have a 5" backspace. To get them to clear, I raised the front of my truck up (I cranked my torsion bars) 1.5". Afterwards I added 1.5" blocks in rear to level it out and then cranked another 0.25" up front b/c the pitch of the vehicle changed after adding blocks in the rear.

After that, I went a got a 4 wheel alignment.

OK. So if I were to go with a 31" x 10.50 tire on the 15 x 10 rims, would that allow me to use the 15" wheels? What minor mods would I have to do to get the 15's to work? Are the brake calipers to big to clear the 15" rims?

If I have to crank the torsion bars, that would be OK also, and I could do the rear block add on also. I have also found a rear set of shackles to lift the back of the Yukon. To me, the rear shackle lift would be an easier swap than putting the lift blocks between springs and axle. Any input on the rear shackles vs. rear blocks?

the shackle flip will yield close to 4" so you will have a ton of rake in the truck's stance.

In my opinion, the 15x10 sounds like a problem. I run a 17x9 with 4.5" BS and my tires (12.5) stick out more than an inch. I am just lucky to tower over them :)
