Hello all! Ive always been a Tahoe/Yukon and so I finally got me a 99 Yukon for $2,000. Has 240k miles but runs strong and sounds like a sewing machine when running. Power outside mirrors arent working and has a Tahoe grill on it(which I intend to change) but otherwise seems to be a great SUV that I am proud of. Bad thing is, no stereo in the dash and the factory harness are cut:Boo: but I will handle that. I am wondering, how big is the stock alternator? I know the previous owner had a nice sound system but when I look at pics of the stock alt, its way smaller than mine, mine is huge lol. Also I was lucky enough to buy it with nice 17" wheels wrapped in 265/70/17 tires with plenty of life in them. I love this site and have been loking on here for a few days now and have found some very interesting threads si I figured I mind as well join!

Welcome  The stock alternators are pinner, 95amps or so unless you have the larger factory option (Z71 trucks had them I believe as did the Limiteds). The L31 is a great engine for lugging around the mountains and makes a good amount of torque if you plan to tow anything.
