Hello, new to the forum. I have restored a 1999 2 door Tahoe for my son. I added 18" wheels with 33x12.50x12 Toyo MT's. I also added keys from a earlier model F150 and adjusted the torsion bars to help level the Tahoe. With the torsion bars adjusted so the Tahoe would set level, the ride of the front end became very "bouncy". So bad, that I had the torsion adjust back for a more comfortable ride. Of course, now the front tires scrub. My goal is to possibly raise the rear an inch and then raise the front app 2 inches so the Tahoe will set level with a comfotable/standard type ride. I do not want to add a suspension lift, any advise would be greatly appreciatted.

the only way to maintain the factory type ride would be to do a suspension lift. cranking the keys will make a stiff ride like you found out. you might even want to consider a body lift. even though i personally dont like the looks of them its the only way to keep factory ride and fit the tires that i know of

Nice looking truck. As for the ride why didn't you keep your stock keys and crank them a bit my 96 was just cranked a bit with a 2" block out back riding on 325/60R18(33.4") it had a pretty stock ride.

Thank You for the kind words and information. If the torsion bars were turned to raise the front end back up, can anything be done to eliminate the bounce of the ride? Below are some additional pictures.

The bouncy ride is most likely because the control arms are hitting the stops. As you mentioned, you had to decrank them. You could body lift the truck or get a suspension lift....or trim the front up a bit where it rubs

Do any of you have any knowledge of using shock extenders on the front?
As mentioned, I am wanting to get the front just high enough so the tires dont scrub. The ride is really good at the height of where the Tahoe is sitting now. Got to thinking if I added shock extenders, it may get the front end high enough to prevent the scrubbing and not change the ride??? Thanks in advance for the feedback.

there is nothing you can do to the suspension at this point without buying a suspension lift

your options are:

trim the spots where is rubbing
suspension lift
body lift
smaller tires
just deal with the rubbing
