Hey guys I am looking at a 2001 Yukon XL. So far I have just been communicating with the owner via text message and I haven't looked at the vehicle in person yet although I plan to later this week. It has 170,000 miles and is 4x4 with the LT package I think. It has the leather interior. He says it has a "damaged" title but not a salvaged title. Evidently it was in a wreck about 10 years ago and repaired by insurance. Considering the same person has been driving it for those 10 years since (and I am assuming previous to the accident) I am not too worried about that part. He is asking 3400 dollars. The seats aren't in awesome condition but I have seen worse. This vehicle would just be a bad weather and hunting vehicle and I would also use it when I need to haul something or tow something as my primary vehicle is a G8 GT.

Do you guys think that is an alright price for this truck? I think it is bone stock which is fine with me as it is less likely to have been abused in the mud and what not. The only thing he said is wrong with it is that the sunroof leaks in heavy rain. I did a brief search on this problem and from what I saw that problem is semi common and usually caused by the drain tubes being stopped up and it usually a somewhat easy fix with compressed air?

Any information is welcome/advice is welcome. Thanks

Based on how it looks alone i`d say that`s a good deal. I`d see if the owner would let you take it to get checked by a mechanic and getting a carfax report wouldn`t be a bad idea to see if it lists the accident it was in.

I would want to know more about the accident and if he has reciepts of parts used and what they were. I would also want to inspect the repair. Amazing sometimes about what can be hiding under the skin lol.

The leather looks pretty dirty and I'd inspect the accident repair thoroughly, otherwise for what you want to use it for, not a bad deal. I wouldn't go a penny higher than $3k though

Thanks for the replies guys.

I ended up picking up a 1999 Tahoe 4x4 with 153k miles on with a clean title this weekend.
