First off, Hi I'm Kevin. I just got my hands on a 1995 Tahoe LS 2-door. Gonna be my winter car as my 2011 camaro is not a fan of the snow. First question is what is an "OBS" Tahoe? The real reason I'm he is because the 4x4 doesn't work. The guy I got nit from said it was probably the acuator, he gave me one, but it may be faulty. When I put the truck in 4x4 the 4x4 light doesn't come on, the front driveshaft spins, but the power isn't making it to the wheels. Which made this giant snowstorm a ***** to drive in. Does anyone have any idea of where to start troubleshooting? Also, the abs light is lit, any ideas?

"OBS" Stands for Old Body Style, Typically 94-99 [i believe, seeing that's how the forums are seperated]

If that actuator on the front diff isn't engaging, your light won't come on and it won't go into 4wd. After I bought my yukon and the 4wd wouldn't work, I found my actuator wire was cut and someone spliced a toggle switch in. Make sure you're getting power to the actuator. I'm sure sunlit can answer this way better than me, he'll chime in sooner or later.

unknown at this time.
with ignition on, parking brake locked down and shifted into 4wd high and low. Check for battery voltage on the light blue wire on the actuator connector.

My actuator also went out, (around 100k) easy fix! If that's the problem. Sounds like it

Old Body Style is mostly 92-99 with the 92-95 having TBI engine, and the 96-99 having the Vortec engine.
I think the 92-94 were still called Blazer like mine, and then in 95 or so they became Tahoe.

My 93 4x4 actuator (thermal type) went out on me and I replaced with the updated electronic motor version.
