Good, it's about time. Too many of these are happening to people, my nephew bought his 2023 Escalade $130,000 and 6 months later blew the engine. It took over 2 months to get the vehicle back with a new engine replacment

This is going to be a big problem for GM. The fact that this problem has been going on for years makes it likely that GM either can not fix this system, or that the fix is too expensive.

GM can't hide behind engine replacements anymore. Will be interesting to see what the outcome is? Extended engine warranty?

probably, they wiggle there way out things by agreeing that if a "specific" thing occurs then they will cover it for 10 years. otherwise it's not covered.

Correct. Hopefully a helpful service rep at the dealer supports the owner too… but that’s pretty unlikely.

I’ve had many brand new cars in my life, never have I been concerned that my car is going to put me in jeopardy, catastrophic engine failure. Dfm lifters, connecting rods “breaching” the engine block. Love that breaching part. Can’t wait till I find the right trade for me, and it wont be a GM.

I don't think they will be able to get away with that. Random catastrophic engine failures become a safety issue. Look at the recent large recalls Toyota and Honda have had to do for engine issues.
