Wrong........Not only that they burn way more fuel than a Crown Vic. They need to be in cars not SUV's unless they're off road in it. Just venting thats all. Sorry!
We've got them in all cololrs here. They've been driving them for a while now. It sucks that our tax dollars go to CPD driving NEW TAHOES and I ride in a 99 because I can't afford a new one. As far as the cost of a new PPV Tahoe vs a CVPI goes,i was just going by what active duty officers on CVN were saying.I guess pricing could be different in different areas.wow... talk about a bunch of false information!
The price difference between a fully equipped police tahoe vs. a police interceptor is $1200 (the Tahoe is more). However, they get better gas mileage and can hold alot more crap than the crown vic, allows for more room as well. AND... when an officer gets hit from the rear while on a traffic stop, he doesn't have to worry about the car exploding into flames like a crown vic.
My Crown Vic SUCKED on the road. I filled it up when I started shift and when I went home. Barely got 200 miles to a tank, IIRC. Been awhile since I've been on the road.
