No 4WD and jet ski's. Will I get stuck?

This weekend I rented 2 400lb jet ski’s to take to the lake. My 4WD on my 2DR has never worked at all. The lake we are going to (Roosevelt) has a beach where you load your boat. It’s just dirt and has a very slight elevation down. I would say 5ft depth every 100ft. I am starting to think I am not going to be able to pull the ski’s back out without 4WD. Does anyone here load and unload their boats in 2WD?

Does the lake have a concrete ramp for trailers? I'd be pretty nervous backing down there in the wet sand with a 2wd, but I'm always in the 1% with problems.

Fixing 4wd cost prohibitive? Not sure what the consistency of the sand is, but if it's normal hard pack for Arizona you may be ok I'd you take it easy on the gas. How steep is the drop off in the water?

Correct its not so much sand as it is typical hard pack dirt. There is only a slight elevation not too steep. I am now thinking I may just try to unhitch the trailer and walk it out. Can't fix the 4WD a the moment as it has to came to and possible be replaced.

2 400lb skis on a trailer is gonna be tough to walk out, with very little slow and if you are Eau on the throttle you shouldn't have any problems in 2wd

I have used 2wd on gravel with a pick up plenty of times.

I would walk out and see if it feels hard or soft, or maybe even watch a couple of other trucks first to see what happens. If it is a place that is used a lot, I would bet that you are going to be ok

You should have no problem at roosevelt.
If you are worried about getting stuck, just let the air out of your tires before you back in. Also try dropping it in during high tide, that should help ensure that the ground is a little dryer. I have never had any issues with 2 wheel drive and a dirt ramp. Take it easy and you will be fine. Easy throttle...drive like your grandma.

Remember...you are on a reservoir lake system. They drain the water in the morning to Apache, Canyon, and Saguaro. At night they pump from Saguaro, Canyon, Apache, and to Roosevelt. This will be your "mock" high tide.

If you still are worried about it you can always carry an extra 6 pack and some rope....AZ is full of Rednecks that will do anything for a couple of beers.

Took my single ski out to a beach over the weekend without the need for 4x4, be careful not to slow up going up the hill or in softer sand.

I would try it , Just air down your tires and take it easy on the skinny pedal . Unless its an area with a Tide I wouldn't worry to much

Thanks for the advise guys. I am going to pick up a ATV winch from Harbor Freight as well as the winch hitch mount. Not sure if I will end up using it but I figure if I have trouble bringing back up the empty trailer I will just use the winch from land to pull the loaded trailer up. With me pushing as well. And for sure I always have a tow rope and there will be plenty of patrons to assist if needed.
