Have you tested the pressure?

There is a pressure switch on the drier tank. If there isn't enough pressure, it won't let the compressor kick on. You can unplug it and put a jumper in to see if the compressor kicks on I believe, but I wouldn't recommend running it any longer than just to test it. If it is low on refrigerant/oil, you could toast your compressor.

If that's the case, your best bet is to recharge it with some dye so you can find your leak.

I was thinking the same thing. I tried to jumper it and to no avail.
