Is it better to block it off or filter it?
I'm removing it because there is no EGR port on the long tube headers I'm installing. So no choice but to remove for me. Otherwise I'd leave it on as it doesn't hurt performance really.

Is there a ban on EGR block off plates sold in the US? I can't find anyone that has them in stock or shows them as available anymore. The GM part is discontinued and no one else stocks aftermarket ones, that I can find searching around. I'm installing long tubes that don't have an EGR connection. I found a couple random sites that show them shipped from China, but not a site that looks trustworthy lol.
I just ordered a set off of Walmart believe it or not. They were like 12 bucks for the manifold and intake.

I believe it is against the law to tamper with any piece of emissions control equipment. Therefore, discussing such things should not be done in an open, public forum such as this one. If nothing else, it can get the site in legal trouble.

It's for Off Road Use Only! Easy workaround.

Then we cant discuss cams, tunes, headers, or anything else on here either. Because they all modify emissions beyond the manufacturer specifications. Can't hear your tone, so I don't know if you were joking or not. I hope you were though.

There weren't any in the yards around me at the time, you couldn't find the GM one online either, no one had it stocked. That's why I originally made the post, no one had them at the time. I found a place selling one quite a while back though.

I was serious. The items in your list don't necessarily affect emissions controls. But the Feds are seriously going after people that mess with EGR. I've only seen them really go after diesel guys, but I figured I should say something. I was not trying to be a self-righteous *****, I just don't want any legal trouble for anyone on this forum.

I am sorry, I did not mean to be offensive.

Not offensive, just a good discussion and information as far as I'm concerned.

I work in emissions certification for Stellantis. Trust me, an aftermarket cam and long tube headers can absolutely make you fail some of the emissions testing. That's why they mark those parts as offroad only. Even my long tubes with cats on them have "offroad only" on them.
If there was going to be any legal trouble on here, it would have happened long ago. There is constant talk of modding vehicles beyond what would be "legal". Most car forums would be shut down if that was the case. LS1Tech has been around forever, has way more talk about that kind of stuff and there are no issues. The govt doesn't monitor forums to see who's making "illegal" mods to their vehicles.
