No rear defogger

My 99 Denali's rear defrost isn't working. The button on the HVAC controls isn't lighting up or staying pressed in. I have a hatch door in the back and I guess I don't have the little contacts like my Tahoe with barn doors had that I could check. Is there something else I can check? Fuse is good.

there are two that play a roll in it. rr-fog under the hood and heat/ac left side of dash.

Both of those fuses are good, what should I check now?

Assuming no wire breaks just replace the switch assembly. the relay and control circuit are all internal of it.

Actually I don't think it is available separately anymore. at least not publicly. will keep looking.

I'd rather just replace the whole thing anyway, is it worth getting one from a junkyard or to just get it new? And what's the part number for the controls?

crap shoot from a junk yard but depends on cost/risk balance.
