Hello everyone,

I have read quite a few entries but have not found one to fix my issue. After the install my res has no audio through the car speakets. The controls on the rear console only give me the options for temp control for the rear seats. I have the proper harness and box ( except for steering controls didn't mind losing them). What can i do? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to the Forum from NH.

Can you give us some more details about your truck, and specifically what you did with the install, and with what aftermarket products?

There are experiences folks here, and they will chime in with their suggestions and perspectives.

Sorry i forgot about the truck description. It is a 2005 GMC Yukon XL 1500 SLT. I did a double din install. I used harness Axxess AX-ADGM03 and the AX-ADBOX 2 from Sonic Electronics. I followed the instructions and still no audio and no res options from the center console. I just got the truck begining of March so i am not that familiar with it. Thanks for any help you can give.

Had same problem when doing my dd install. Originally also ordered the Axxess but no luck. Ended up using the PAC-gm11, which allowed me to use the RSE. Hope that helps

So it isn’t necessarily that you did anything wrong with your install. The rear seat entertainment portion of the panel in the back of the center console ONLY works with the factory headunit, no matter which headunit you have. It’s actually controlled by the factory headunit. So if you no longer have the factory head unit that the RSE controls will no longer do anything regardless of what harness you have installed with your aftermarket head unit to retain that feature. It’s a simple matter of the RSE controls don’t communicate with the aftermarket headunits. There are I believe adapter harnesses that keep your overhead DVD player functioning. I’m not sure which ones do that though.

Return the axxess module and buy the PAC RP5-GM 11. I recently installed that one and my RES works.
