2008 Yukon SLE here, no amp with aftermarket Pionner DD HU. I'm getting sound from all tweeters, but only the passenger side door speaker works. I get no sound from the rears or the driver's side. I noticed fuse 41 (30a) "amp" is blown. I attempted to replace it only to have it pop instantly. I'm confused here. If i have a base model SLE, no bose, no amp, what does fuse 41 serve?

I've replaced all 4 door speakers and even swapped the stock HU in. I also bought a new HU with no resolution. I still dont get sound from anything except the front passenger door.

I've checked the radio fuse, cigarette lighter fuse, aux1/2 fuses, BSM fuse and all are fine. Are there other fuses to check?

Any suggestions are where to look next?

Could I bypass fuse 41 entirely and run an external amplifier plugged into the HU and direct to the battery? or is this a fire risk since Im not addressing a short circuit somewhere and this lead to potential future issues?

We've owned this SLE for over 10 years and its got some sentimental value to us now... i'd love to keep it as long as i can.

EDIT: i dont have the BOSE system, so i'm assuming i dont have an amp. Also worth mentioning is my door chimes are extremely faint.

I’d grant one of the local stereo shops an hour of time and walk across the street to the donut shop or whatever’s there.

Experience pays when a pro can find that the factory harnesses are incompatible with the new head unit and have solutions.

to clarify, the issue started with the prior HU which ran fine for 10years. i installed a new HU hoping that was the issue and no luck. all wires exactly the same since its Pioneer to Pioneer. i also swapped the stock HU back in and no luck.

Is the aftermarket radio connection a simple harness, or does it use an interface unit for the chimes, and steering wheel controls if you have them?

It probably has an amplifier, generally they're under the center console IIRC. Any water or soda spillage in the console?

It uses a interface harness and SWC. my test on that one was to plug the OEM HU in to the original harness, but that didn't have success with that.

I took a look under my console and didn't see an amp or anything in there... just an empty void and a harness going to the rear seat controls.

AND for whatever reason, the rear speakers are now working! Only my front driver's door doesn't work now.

I'm kinda toying with the idea of just adding a 4-channel amp and being done with this. i'm sure an aftermarket amplifier will power the new JBL door speakers more efficiently. Anyone see any issues with this? My concern is that there may be a short still somewhere in the cars system.

As @petethepug suggested above, buy some diagnostics time from a local truck audio shop and let them find the source of your issue. A short circuit is never good and should be resolved.

After you achieve a resolution, you can purchase a power amp and enjoy the full sound/volume spectrum of your new speakers.

Go to Crutchfield’s site, locate ur h/u and see what their system says you need for an install. My recollection is you’ll minimally need a harness to incorporate the SW controls and/or the chime system (blinker sounds).
