No speech detected

Okay so I have the hands free seek on my 2011 yukon. But everytime I try to use it says no speech detected try again, and that's with me screaming the station number any thoughts.

the mic in the overhead console might be out can you talk with onstar or use the built in bluetooth phone call function without any issue? are you American? maybe it does not recognize a dialect if you have one. just some idea's

I can use hands free calling without any issues both instar and Bluetooth maybe cause she was Canadian? Idk
