I need help! I have a 2000 tahoe LS new body with the 5.3. I have Been dealing with passlock security issues now for a couple months and haven't made any progress. To begin with my truck won't start so I can't take it anywhere to get work done. If I leave the battery hooked up the security light stays on and drains my battery. I try starting it and it starts then dies. Also my auto lights stopped working and my interior lights don't come on either since this issue started. I put a new ignition wire harness in and just replaced the ignition housing new from GM with the passlock sensor. Did the 10 min on acc then off for 10sec 3 times so a total of 30 mins. Even did the same 30 min process with crank then leave on acc. I am just at a loss on what to do next? I have a used BCM that I was told I could put in my truck and program my new ignition housing to it? Any help will help also if you need more info to help me out let me know.
By the way I am new to posting and did search the forum

Did you replace the ignition harness and ignition and then the problem started or did you replace those items after the problems started? If these were done after the problem started, what was the last thing you fixed/replaced on the truck before the problem started?

All these problems started before I started putting parts on it. And my truck would run fine before. Then when I would be driving my security light would come on and if it happened when dark out my auto headlights would go out the same time my security light would come on. Then it wouldn't start at all just start for a couple seconds then shut off so I would unhook the battery wait a couple mins and hook it back up and it would start. First part I replaced was the ignition wiring harness and nothing changed. Then it just stopped running all together about a month after I put that new harness in. Next part I purchased was the cylinder housing from GM not a generic one. Installed it and did the re-learn and still no start. Like I said I do have a good used BCM that is a matching part number and was told by a GM tech that a used one can be matched to an existing system with the relearn procedure.

Also my interior courtesy dome lights stopped working when my truck stopped running. Was told that is a BCM issue as well?

Anyone have experience with the newrockies bypass? I was talking to them but they said the bypass won't fix my problem

did you get this figured out yet? I'm starting to have issues with the passlock not allowing me to start the vehicle at times. Also, I don't believe the problem would be bcm related. Pretty sure its the ECM that integrates with the passlock security. I just put a used PCM with a new engine tune on it and had to do the relearn procedure to get the truck to start.

Low01denali yes I did get it all solved! All the above issues were fixed once I put another BCM in and had it flashed to my truck at the dealer! I was able to get a used BCM from the local salvage yard for $45. But make sure it has the same part number that your truck takes or it will not work. Hope that helps. Any other questions please ask because my truck doing great! Now

Scotty, hope you're still around. I have an 04 Yukon Denali AWD with basically the same issues as you have, except for the head lights and dome lights going out.

Mind me asking what the dealer charged to flash the used BCM to your vehicle? When you say match the numbers from the original to the used one from a salvage yard do you mean a part # or model #? I haven't looked at mine so I don't know what to look for yet.
