It may be but it still look very good.

Before you jump that far ahead you need to do a lot more checking.
You now may have another problem.
Did you check for fuel or spark?

If not do it now.
Do you have spark?
Do you have fuel?
If you have fuel what is the fuel pressure?
Is the engine light on?
Was it before you pulled the dizzy?

These dizzy's need to be pretty close or the engine will not start.
Guess I am assuming.
You need to tell us what you are working on?
Make model, engine.

Do you have a security light? Does it stay on or flash?

I had around 66lbs of fuel pressure. Assumed I had spark because it would try to start. Sorry about not having all the info. Is a 96 GMC Yukon with the 5.7 vortec. New fuel pump, filter, plugs and wires. And as of this morning cap and rotor. It also had the intake gaskets replaced before I got it. It had hard times starting since I got it but it always started. I figured they may not have got the distributor correctly back in.

Make sure distributor is installed correctly, and mentioned above do you have security light on? Does it crank and fire up than die or just no start at all?

If engine light was not on the dizzy was close enough. It will throw a cam/crank code if the timing is to far off.
