I just bought this denali and the drivers door handle has 'slop' in the handle when you pull it.. not up and down, but in and out slop...lolz
Not the whole assembly, just the handle dosnt have any spring strength, like something broke.. all the other doors are the way they should, nice and tight, his one doesnt.

Is this an easy fix or do I have to buy a whole assembly and have it painted..

Thanks for any help.

I installed a new right rear door handle on my friends 2010 tahoe a few years back and the first time around it had play in it the handle like you're describing. I disassembled it and a clip had popped loose on the initial install. I forget exactly what or which it was but it worked perfectly after that.

That being said you may be able to take the door panel off and look for any loose links or unsecured clips.

Hopefully that's all it is and you won't have to order a new handle and have it painted.

Let us know how it goes and good luck!

My guess is the clip or piece holding the door handle tension is broken, hopefully I can just buy the broken part. I've already taken this door panel off, replacing the entire window regulator, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for a cheap fix (under $5), if not ,it looks like 25 for the handle assembly and guessing 50-75 for paint

I'll tackle it after 4th July vacation, thanks for the help. I'll go to o reilly and see what's holding itin, hopefully I can just change and buy the spring or clip, assuming it's broken from the previous owner. Door still works but the loose slop bothers me..lol

Thanks for the response m1gunner!!

Went to o reilly, it's a little coil spring that they don't sell.

So now I'm off to call the pick and pulls.. I'm not paying $100 for a spring!!! Hahaha (new handle assembly + color match paint)

Just like the internal o-ring for the fuel pressure regulator. You can't buy those anywhere seperately and the only one close enough in size is an A/C o-ring and it's only a temp fix. Gotta buy a new $100+ regulator for .02 o-ring.

Then again you could buy the new handle and just transplant the spring. Eliminate the need for cost of new paint.

There is a service kit for the fuel pressure regulator that contains both O-rings. I just bought one for $18 shipped.
