What has been said already. IMO, do the Genuine GM plugs and wires, clean the MAF and MAP with correct fluid from parts store, change the trans fluid in the pan and the filter and maybe do again after 15k miles to try and get some more fresh fluid in there and I would not worry about the detergents recommendation from that shop. How do the belts look? How do the hoses look? Time to flush coolant and brake fluid and change fluid in diff's and transfer case and power steering fluid.

Or drive it till it drops or leaves you stranded because it likely will one of these days. "Maintenance pays and breakdowns cost".
MAFand MAP?

I bought this vehicle in 2017, ex rental, had about 60k miles if i recall. I am coming up on 200k miles. Since i have had it, i have done nothing but change the engine oil, tires, and brakes. Just did shocks and struts about 10k miles ago. I havent had any issues, gas mileage is still pretty normal.
Occasionally the tranny upshifts for a second then back. Checked the fluid, still good, doesnt smell burnt or anything. Took it to a trans shop. He asked if i have serviced it ever, and I said not since ive owned it. He said not to touch it or problems will start up due to the detergents in the new fluids, almost certain it would cause problems.
Thoughts?
And as far as a tune up? Should i do anything about that, and what should be replaced?
Again, no issues TBH
Check your OWNERS MANUAL 100k everything pretty much needs changed! Plugs tranny rear diff transfer case and front diff if 4x4..engine coolant..ck hoses and belts! You're lucky it's taken this neglect. Tranny change is up to you. If it's doing something funny a service Wont fix it. Likely trans rebuild in your future

So i took a visit to the dealer today and the dealer service center told me not to touch it either! Kind of shocked. I also seen a youtube video where a guy replaced the fluid by pumping it out of the dip stick with a pump. Of course the filter was not changed, but great idea vice dropping the pan. got some decisions to make.... ill keep ya all posted, thanks for all the info and suggestions!! Greatly appreciated.

At the risk of jinxing myself, I don't change transmission fluid. I've had my share of transmission failures over the years--NONE related to fluid. All were mechanical failures. A couple were components that broke while still under warranty.

I would definitely change the heater hoses. I just replaced the plugs & wires on my '09 Tahoe at 200K as it was idling a little rough sometimes. As preventive maintenance, I'm going to replace the fuel pump this week, and I replaced the alternator last month.

I wouldn't touch the fluid if its got 200k without any previous service. Did my regular 45k interval flush on my 2015 with the 6.2L and 8 Speed and the flush finished the job of killing the transmission at 175k. Wasn't running great by then but it only sped up the death of it. I've heard the 2015's with 6 speeds do pretty well... 200k+. (2016s+ are a different story). But would do better with regular service. I would be surprised if you can get it to 250k, but if you do that's a good life for a transmission in these trucks.

Died meaning in need of total transmission replacement. Thing still moved but not that great. It had delayed engagement (Slammed into R from P), N was another R gear, slipped from 1 to 2, underpowered on highway, internal computer wasn't responding to anything, and a few other things. The thing never once threw a check engine code though. Got rid of the truck that day and now drive my mother's 18' Yukon Denali that only had 60k miles on it at the time. Was quoted about $4700 for a new transmission, which wasn't horrible (have a relationship with dealer though). Now I would imagine it would be more due to inflation and shortages. Glad I got ride of it though. Have started to hear stories about the 6.2L blowing up at mileage before my 15' had when the tranny died (from guys that only drive highway miles and baby it). Not sure how the 5.3L has held up, but maybe better than the 6.2L.

I would be worried about your 6 speed though. 200k no service is a good life, especially if it is just having issues.
