For reference, I have a 2012 GMC Yukon XL Denali.

My drivers side seat seems to have the ventilation work just fine (fan kicks on, seat bottom cools down, etc) but there is nothing on the back of the seat, just the bottom. That’s the only part of the seat that cools down.

Has anyone had this issue? If it’s a fan in the seat back, how difficult was that to change out?

Bainman on the avalanche forum was the maverick on getting into his heated / chilled seats back in 2020. He has good, accurate info & pics.

After GM found out they could keep the greenhouse gas credits by keeping the front seats as ventilation only, the pulled the TEC (refrigeration) modules in 2011.

Your 11-14 seats are almost identical but without the hassle of the TEC module integrated. Check out your seat back for collapsed ducts or a fan that’s out.
