Is it only in a certain RPM range when at that speed? What gear is it in when it happens?

It's either the bearings or the gears in the rear end....my 2008 had the same problem.

Good news is, if it's less than 5 yrs or 100K miles old, it's covered under GM's powertrain warranty.

Do you have a cold air intake? Might be a slight air leak around the filter connection or around the throttle body or such!! I've had that happen on mine and it would only whistle at a higher speed while stepping on it!! Can't remember what RPM range or speed it was but it was enough to annoy me and fix it!

No, no cai and rear diff fluid has been changed once a while ago,the fluid was clean as its only got 71k on it. I noticed this morning the noise was much worse then before. Any more ideas? Has no one ever had this issue, the noise is not good. My mechanic (very very lazy lately) says it in the motor.

Do you have an aftermarket tip on your exhaust?

I had the issue once when I put a dual chrome tip on the single pipe. Could not figure out what the issue was until I went to the dealer, I floored the truck in their parking lot and the service adsvisor did hear the sound come from the exhaust pipe. Once hitting the accelerator hard, there was so much exhaust pressure going through this dual tip that it started to whistle. Changed the tip to a single one and the problem was gone.

No its got the stock exhaust on it. It starts at exactly 50 mph and goes completly silent at 55 lol
