Hello all,
Have another "noise" issue hopefully someone can help with. Over most bumps, and especially dips, there's an almost grinding/creaking like sound, like old leather/rubber crunching type noise. It happens both the front and rear when the axles go over the bump. The noise occurs at different places, front and rear, so I'm pretty sure it's suspension related, and not a tranny mount like I read in another thread (a banging noise over bumps). It's worse if the wheels go over bump/dip simultaneously ie. straight, not as noisy when going over at an angle. It seems more prominent on driver side, but don't have any help to listen outside the truck. Jacked up the front, pulled/pushed the wheels and suspension all seem tight. Lubed the zerks and still noise. Rubber bushings have some hairline age cracks, but certainly not falling apart. Happens when going slow (<5mph) too. Is there any other test that can be done to narrow this down? I am think it might be torsion bars based on where the sound is coming, or maybe the shocks, but don't know how to tell. Thanks for any advice, sorry for the long diatribe.
02yuk 5.3 ff, 4x4, smooth ride suspension zw7, 118k miles- stock suspension and no suspension components have been changed (yet)

Mounts "look" OK, but I don't have a big enough socket to check for tightness. Is visual inspection adequate? Same with bushings..."looK" OK. Don't know any other method of testing, but looking for ideas. Thanks

The patrol trucks we use at work have this same problem. Sorta sounds like the springs are wearing out. We do have dips on every street. Maybe they were out quicker if you do alot of driving like that. Dunno if that sounds like your problem or if its even possible to have the springs wear quicker if you go over more bumps

Finally able to get an assistant to drive the truck over a dip so I can listen. Amazingly, it's all four corners. What's the chance of all 4 shocks going together. Perhaps the cold weather has to do with it, and then in my simpleton mind, I would think rubber bushings. Can they be lubed like with silicone spray or something? THanks.
