Wanted to see if anyone had experience in finding the best location to tap into speaker wires on a non-Bose Tahoe (2018)... and if so what color wires identify each speaker?

I've heard differing opinions on using front vs rear speakers. Some say that the fronts shouldn't be used because of the front-left chime and some say not to use the rear because of the factory attenuation.

Just wanted to get opinions from others that have done it, and I don't mind playing around with front vs rear--but really wanted to know where the easiest access to the speaker wires is on these trucks.

I did read the Kicker (factory addon) installation and it seemed to refer to access of speaker wire under the driver dash area--but it didn't identify which wire is which.

Thank you for the help!

Just wanted to bump this, I guess there's not as much interest in upgrading the non-Bose systems.

If I chose to use the rear speakers for the line out converter, would it be easier to tap at the speakers themselves or dash--just wanted to get input from someone who has routed wires on this truck.

Thanks again!

no matter how you do it the noise reduction system may or will cause feedback or basically cripple what you are trying to accomplish, the only way around that is to disable the bose mic's

That's actually the point of the thread--I do not have the Bose system. So I don't have to worry about the mics.

I've found a bunch of information on where to tap into the Bose amp for the LOC--but not the best place for the non-amped systems like mine. That's why I was wondering if people just tee off of the rear speakers or if there is a place where all the wires are together that can be accessed easily.

I only mentioned the mic's because you noted factory attenuation which should only be present with the bose system. If you do not have a bose amped system then all of the wires would be on the back of the headunit or wherever the main radio portion is I forgot these new k2's probably only have a thin lcd sreen, you can try looking up the gmupfitter guide for your vehicle that will give you all the radio wiring information.

I appreciate the help. Yeah, I believe the actual headunit exists below the screen. I was hoping not to pull the dash apart to get there--but maybe it's easier than I expect. That's part of the reason I was debating pulling signal from the speaker wiring at the speakers themselves. But then I'd have to route wire from both doors to LOC.
