Can I use a tree saver strap to recover people or do I need and actual recovery strap for the elasticity of it? How many lbs should it be rated to? I do zero off roading. I am only looking for a strap to pull people out of the snow this winter. Thank you in advance

I bought a tow strap for that. Hasn't failed me yet =) It wasn't anything special. Reese towing makes it and I got it at my local home improvement store Menards.

You can, I recommend the ones with clips on the end rather than open Hooks. Ive seen where open hooks Slipped off and came flying back right through windshields.

Stay FAR away from one with hooks of any sorts on the end. I went and bought a recovery strap from tractor supply for like $50 it is i think rated for 18-19k

If you need a hook or something on the ends go buy you a d-ring that is rated for alot.

chains are ok as long as your not a dumbass. we use them all the time to pull the fork trucks out of the mud at work.

i have chains, straps, and rings in the hoe. the big strap has the looped ends no hooks, the cheap one has hooks. (bought it to pull out some shrubs :D worked great)
