no, what i meant by that is the piping cant be that different between $65 piping and $300 piping. only big differences are true cold airs pull air from inner fender, where as the ebay ones pull air from the engine compartment. depending on what a nice filter cost, i bet that kit with a different filter would cost less than a new k&n kit or aem kit

you should before see a slight performance increase and sound bc the stock stuff is full of sound deadening stuff. the cai has a more direct path of flow, whcih is easier to draw from. but im not so sure on the mpg, more air means more gas anyway you look at it

I did a k&n chrome CAI. It is a lot louder that stock (not always a bad thing), didnt add much power and cost me about 1 mpg. like ATL said, more air = more fuel. I would do it again though because it makes the engine bay look 10 times better.

If you have a k&n in the stock airbox, I would look at doing the swiss cheese mod. If you want something that looks better, go for it. But I doubt a cheap filter would improve anything. Although, bad filter = less air = less fuel = better mileage.

Thnx guys for your 2 cents :).I'll like my "Pig" to breath more but not want to loose mpg's !! Since I only get around 16.5 MPG hwy !! So now I'm thinking of just installing the metal tubing from the intake to the stock air box,Just not install the cheap filter. Can I use that ebay tubing to fit the stock air box ?? Or make my own ??

And I had a 9C1 LT1 Caprice back in the day,I did a stock air box swiss cheese mod but that was many YEARS/BEER'S ago and forgot how to on that lol :p

Thnx

You may have trouble with a homemade part. seems like the fan shroud makes it tight. No idea on the ebay tube.
