I've been doing little things here and there on my Tahoe. It's an 01 5.3 4x4 with 114k. Owned it almost 3 years. The past few northeast winters didn't have much snow and never really used the 4wd. I know some whining is normal when it's engaged. I've had a few chevy trucks from this generation but it's been a while and the 4wd whine seems a little louder than I remember. All fluids have been kept up, replaced and topped off with regular maintenance. Can anyone comment on how much noise/whine is normal. Thx

Reminder to put it in 4x4 ever so often even if you don't need it...you might someday!

You guys don't hear any difference when driving and put the truck in 4h ? I always engage it once a month or so regardless if I need it or not for a few hundred feet.

I have 254K on mine and I also don't hear a whine or any other noise for that matter when it's in 4x4.
