this system was just installed and charged about 2 months ago. brand new compressor, condensor etc... so i unless i have a leak ( which i should check for) i should not be low.

Lets start at top of compressor. should be a switch with light green wire and a dark green/white. disconnect that connector and probe the light green for voltage with the negative lead of Dmm to battery ground. with head unit a/c controls on, no volts mean head unit is not requesting a/c engagement from computer. Next try applying batt volts to dark green/white wire. Does system engage(only do this for a few seconds)? If you have volts on light green and volts on the other initiates the system. You should be able to jumper wire the connector and system should operate. if it does not operate when plugged back in to switch you have a defective switch or a very low charge.

thanks for the help, but i had to give up and take it to the AC guy, they just installed 90% of the system and hopefully whatever is broken is under warranty. last i got to was metering the clutch engage wiring, and not seeing 12v passing there where previously it was ( i used this to engage the AC fan override so the second fan would turn on when ever the compressor ran)
