I am new to the forum, but certainly not new to Chevys! I came here becaue I just bought a '99 Yukon SLT 4x4 (5.7L) for my daughter to drive to college. It has 105k, so it should last a while. I bought it over the net and when it arrived, there were/are a lot of issues. Big surprise, I know. So I'm starting down the path to get here center lined again.
It needs a little pedal pressure to start, and idles poorly. Smells very rich. I have an Auto Xray 6000, but no codes come up. Yesterday, I replaced the the FI unit. I was surprised to see the newer style MFI, but it had been leaking pretty severely. Maybe it was one of the cheap knock offs. I put the Delphi unit in it. It starts right up, no pedal, but the idle is hunting and surging. I will re-check everything for vac leaks, and check fuel pressure when my gauge arrives tomorrow. I planned to replace the pump anyway (have a new Delco unit) because the gauge doesn't work. It's a good looking truck with an inch or so lift and new GMC wheels and tires. It also has headers, EGR delete, and a TB spacer, none of which I would have done (waste of money). I'll post up some pics later. I'll have lots of questions, for sure!
I also have a 2010 Suburban, 2008 Equinox and a 1971 Suburban 4x4 in unbelievable survivor condition. I know....pics. Coming
