O3 Tahoe airbag light on.

OK so I finally had it scanned for free. Came up with a few codes.

B0026
B0043
B0044
U1000

According to the research I have done all of these codes point to an open loop in the steering wheel. I trouble shot every "usual" issue that came up online and am still coming up with nothing. I'm truly at a loss now.

Mine is coming on also, it will stay on for a minute and go off, every so often I'll look down and sometimes it's on and sometimes it's off.

I wish that were the case with mine so I could get it inspected while it's off lol. They have set it up in Texas where you only have one tag. You must take the inspection papers to the dmv in order to get it registered. So I'm illegal x2 right now. Ugh!!!

Yea man I used to live in Hampton, Virginia for a while. I used to see those busted NC cars all the time. Lol

I looked into this a little bit more and it looks like the clock spring could break triggering the airbag light and the horn will also not work. So i guess if the horn works the search continues.

So after all the hugs and buss it turns out that in Texas the airbag light will not cause a failure of state infection. I wish I would have known this before I spent all this money chasing and fixing the airbag.

It turns out that's exactly what's wrong. The clock spring or SIR coil. I can get a new one for 100 bucks bit the dealer is asking $699 for parts and labor!!! I think I'll be doing this. Lol

Upon a ABS system scan you will know which sensor is bad. Normally it is the front sensors as others have mentioned. They are easy to change and will automatically reset. I suggest disconnecting battery while changing them. Unfortunately my side restraint air bags in my front seats are my culprit and the seats have to come apart to fix it. So I live with the little red light on.
