My wife spilled her entire 44 oz Diet Coke onto the center console of our 05' GMC Yukon Denali causing the cigarette lighter port fuse to blow - which apparently also runs the OBD2 port. I replaced the fuse and now my obd scanner turns on but cannot communicate with the ECU to read engine codes (keeps telling me to make sure my ignition is on). My scanner connects just fine to my other vehicles.

When it shorted out, could it have also damaged the ECU?

Would it have blown if she was drinking Mountain Dew Instead? I don't think so.

Anyways..I cannot get my emissions test done without a working OBD2 port.

Thanks for any help or ideas?
