I checked my cigarette lighter fuse and it blows every time I try and put a new one in. I went as far as checking wiring as far as I could go and found a melted spot and went further and everything looks fine after, so i cut the wires and taped them off. Still blowing fuse. Anyone have similar experience or any fixes???

My OBD2 fuse had blown, i think when i used the 12V for an air pump but when i put a new fuse in it was fine. The 12V still doesn't work so i have to check it out..can you disconnect the 12V somehow and just try the OBD2?

I'm not sure I'm understanding your response. Which 12v? It's the same fuse that runs the cigarette lighter. I'm really just concerned about being able to get troubleshooting codes. Without being able to put a fuse in there I'm kind of SOL.

My car has a 12V up above the cigarette lighter that is tied in. Someone on another forum had a problem with theirs blowing because one of their kids had stuck a penny down in it..

make sure that the pins aren't shorting out either. If you have a long enough lead wire, use a sewing needle and solder it to the end of a piece of long insulated wire and then wrap the bare end around the lead from the multimeter and see if you can ring out the wires from the aldl connector to the pcm. By putting your meter in series with the wires, you can determine if there is a break in the system other than where you checked.
