Here it is...I couldnt find much about anyone putting projectors in the OBS headlights....I've spent a TON of time searching the net. and found only one other write up...pretty sad, considering how many of these atrucks are out there.... here is my 99' Tahoe that I installed Bi-Xenon 4300K this is the kit I bought http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_info.php?products_id=227 It is a direct plug in kit, no splicing required. stock high beams are also used, as I have the 4-High mod already installed. This was my first time dealing w/ HID lights, let alone doing a retrofit...I do auto body work for a living.

The light output is nothing short of Amazing, very impressive kit. I should add I used Depo Clear headlights, and they were a PITA to seperate the lens....

Enjoy the pics!! Pics are on my FaceBook account, for some reason I cannot select all my pics at once, and really dont feel like uploading one by one..

or you can view them at my HID planet thread. more pics on my facebook page though. http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/sho...Xenon-Retrofit-OBS...it-can-be-done!&p=475319

WiCK3D_SiX ummm, those dont hold a candle to "real" projectors. read up on those, let alone look at some pics of the "beam"

I was going to buy a set of those, but after reading post after post saying they were junk, I got the idea....

Gotcha. Not much of a headlight tech guy. I probably should have been more clear in that I was trying to figure out what the benifit of building your own was vs the off the shelf units. Any particular reason to not use older BMW square headlights instead? short of the extended work load to fit them. 3rd gen Camaro guys fit these alot.

soulsea...it's all good!

I wasnt trying to come accross like a jerk either, I wish it was as simple to just buy some $100 headlights and have projectors.

I've seen pics of those "pre-made Projectors" taken apart, and the Lens is just a cheap plastic piece, not like the proper glass ones in the real projectors.

I just hope by sharing my pics other guys get the idea that it's not that hard to do if you can operate a dremel tool, and have common sense.

I know I'm a visual person, you can tell me all about it, and I still wont 100% get it, once I see a picture...I'm set. I was almost ready to return this Kit when I realized it wasnt just a drill a hole for the mounting stud, like the NBS headlights are...it's a big commitment once you start cutting.

Some more info, I have $350 in the headlights, including HID kit w/ all wiring, and new Depo Crystal clear headlights, that fit pretty good for aftermarket. the parking lights are off of E-bay for about $26 shipped, match the headlights real good..

Where did you get the glass lens headlights? Would be a nice upgrade over the plastic lens that haze.
