About once a month when I get into my Tahoe the radio/nav does not work. Won't turn on, no sounds for blinkers, no chimes. Once I get to my destination park then return some time later, it works no problem. I have the GMX550 installed and don't remember if this happened before or not.

I have tried just getting out and locking it and then getting back in with no luck, it only works again when I am away from the car for more than a few minutes. Do I catch the elves that run everything in the dash on break?

Any help is appreciated!

The first step is to remove the lockpick for a while and see if the issue continues. If not, then that is the problem. I bet the lockpick is the issues.

I've started getting similar issues as well. I didn't have them for the first month since putting in the GMX550. They started popping up (and pretty regularly) this past week. I recently upgraded to the 6.0c Nav disc and put in a BlueFusion unit. I really hope it isn't due to any of these 3 things.

My plan is to first check connections and the battery terminals.

Sure enough, got home and started up the tahoe. No radio. Turned off the engine. Restarted. Radio works.

I checked the battery cables really quickly by hand. They feel tight.

I've removed the 6.0c Nav disc for the time being to see if the problem persists.

Today I've gone on several short trips in the truck. Without the 6.0c disc I haven't had any problems with the stereo. With it in, it seems like the stereo was failing to turn on about 1 in 4 tries. I'll see how things are for the rest of the weekend.

Which NAV disc do you have? I just want to rule out the 6.0c as the culprit b/c I remember reading somewhere (either on this board or another GM board) that the 6.0c was giving someone some issues.
