This only happens under these circumstances. Tow boat to lake, no issue. Tow boat home, which is on a hill, no issue. Put rig in reverse to back boat down driveway and rig stumbles, rpms drop, then “service brakes” message comes on. No stored codes and new pads, rotors and front calipers. I’ve towed the boat for years without this issue. Something’s not right. No issues while not towing. Thanks all.

So, it never does the same thing when backing the boat in to the lake? I was gonna GUESS a trans problem but if only happening at home, that is weird. Is the angle the same when you back boat in to the lake and at home driveway or is one way different than the other? Trans fluid level and condition? Maybe @rockola1971 can chime in.

By the way, how are the brakes doing?

Thanks Ron, the brakes are doing well. Thanks again for the help. It doesn’t do it at the boat ramp and where it does it at home is when I stop on the road so I’d say they are similar. Once she gets over this little fit I can back down my driveway, which is much steeper than the boat launch.
