We were out running errands in the Tahoe last Friday, and I noticed that the check engine light was on. We stopped by the local parts house for a scan, and it disclosed a P0455 and P0449, the typical canister-related codes we're all so familiar with.
I was working on figuring out where I'd get the parts, but we were getting ready for a 24 Hours of Lemons race last weekend, so I figured we'd deal with it the following Monday.
Well, Monday rolled around and we had some errands to run. We were taking the pups to the Vet when I noticed that the check engine light was still on, but so were the airbag light and the fasten seatbelt light. These two lights are located on the speedometer. While driving to the Vet, I noticed that the speedometer was not working either. We're thinking WTF?!?
After our Vet visit, when I started the truck, the check engine light turned off. All of the other lights that were showing errors, also went out, and the speedometer was working the entire trip home. I'll note that Friday and Monday were clear and cold, but we had cold wet days over the weekend (making for an interesting Lemons race).
Any thoughts? There's not much I can do if the warning lights are out, and everything appears to work. Thanks.
