odd sounds behind dash

I believe the traction control allows the brakes to pulse on the wheel that is spinning more than the others. If your power steering was low, maybe there is some kind of hydraulic cavitation when the power steering pump is loaded by the brakes, during the ABS activation(when the brakes are pulsing)??

Even with TC on, I haven't noticed a lack of power doing donuts in the snow. Unfortunately it is almost 50 degrees here in the Northwest!

Are you running snow tires or all season tires? The Goodrich TA's on my truck lock up pretty good in the snow. I haven't heard any noise in the dash. That is a weird one. Could there be an opening in the firewall that is allowing noise to come through?

Transfer case noise, like from a bad chain?
